Everything about Moviez

Home > Coming Up Next > Hollywood Movie Calendar > Moviez in November (16th Nov- 30th Nov)

Heyya All. I am sorry I have been postponing my bit. Here comes the movies in the next half of November, starting with nothing less than… well Happy Feet Two.

It is back with Elijah Wood as Mumble, the penguin who can dance, and he comes back with his son Erik..who…well cannot dance. For more about Happy Feet Two, you can find my trailer post on it. For now, this one is releasing in 3D(as well as 2D) against the fantastic white backdrop of Antartica!!  Happy Feet Two is releasing in Russia, Singapore, and Canada on 17th November. The Mumble fans of USA can watch it( and Dance) on November 18th, whereas Belgium, Brazil,Poland will see the release on 24-25th November. UK and France, along with Spain and Finland got to wait till December 2nd to catch this one.

The Descendant poster

Releasing on the same day in US, i.e 18th November is George Clooney starrer The Descendant. The movie has already been in the festival circuits in Toronto International Film Festival and The New York Film Festival.

This time it is out for public viewing with R rating. The story is about Clooney who tries to reconnect with his family of two daughters( Shailene Woodley, & Amara Miller) after his wife suffers a boating accident. Germany, UK,  Sweden, Ireland will see the release around January 19th, 20th and 27th, whereas France will get to enjoy this in  February 2012

I guess you already know that Twilight comes next!! I am not a major Twilight fan. Did not even like the book. But hey, what the heck, this series is a hit.

Twilight saga: Breaking Dawn- Jacob Black

Whether Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart are dating or not,  Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (Part 1)  is already a hit.

This Twilight Saga which comes with the tagline Forever Is Just The Beginning, is the building stage for the Ultimate Fight between, Edward, Bella and the Volturi, and I also guess that you know it.

Twilight saga: Breaking Dawn

The poster of this one is the best till date, and Robert Pattinson, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner are looking nothing short of GREAT!! We are yet to see if Abduction adds anything to Lautner’ career, however  this guy is the best looking teenager around!! Twilight fans in France, Italy and Sweden will see the vampires on 16th Nov, where as Aussies, Thais, New Zealanders, Greeks will see this on 17th on November. India, USA and rest of the Europe will enjoy Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn (part 1) on 18th of November.

If you manage to get over this extravagant love story then it is time for psychoanalysis, for releasing on 23rd of November with a R rating is A Dangerous Method, studying the intense relationship between Carl Jung and Sigmund Freud. This movie has Michael Fassbender, Viggo Mortensen, Vincent Cassel and Kiera Knightley and with a starcast like that, this can be a worth while film to go by. Releasing on 30th Nov in and 10th Feb in UK,  A Dangerous Method is a period drama promising a lot of  intense acting.

After this Arthur Christmas an animated comic Christmas time watch is a welcome break. Coming from Sarah Smith who also deal with the screenplay with Peter Baynham, this is story of unlikely hero Arthur and the Santa placed in North pole.

Folks can enjoy this one around 11th Nov, in UK & Ireland, 17th in Germany, 23rd in US, 24th in Australia, Hong Kong, Hungary, whereas Singapore, India, Brazil, Sweden will get to watch Arthur Christmas in 2D as well as 3D in later half of December.

The big one at the end of November is  Martin Scorsese’s  Hugo adapted from Brian Selznick’s book.

The movie releases in USA & Canada on 23rd November, UK, France Italy and India on 2nd, 7th, 16th and 23rd of December. This is a magical adventure and quite likely to be in 3D too. I believe this one will be a surprisingly good movie because it is written by John Logan the guy behind movies like The last Samurai (2003), The Gladiator (2000)and  the very recent Rango. Something one should look forward to…

Moving on we have The Muppets and Piranha 3DD. Piranha 3DD is releasing is US, UK,  Spain & Canada on 23rd of November and in India on 26th of the same month. The movie is the usual bit, blood thirsty Piranhas,  screaming women, bloody bodies and some freak scientists trying to sort out the stuffs.

The Muppets is rated PG(??) and is in USA, & Canada on 23rd of November, 1st January in Australia, & in Italy, Germany, Hong Kong, UK all through January and February. This is another fully children’s movie after Arthur Christmas, where the Muppets try to get even with a oil tycoon.  I hope this will please the Muppet fans all over as the movie and the teaser looks colorful and cute to say the least.

The very last movie this month is the remarkable documentary The Legend of the Pale Male. Set in New York City this is the story of a hawk, known affectionately as the Pale Male, who has a nest in the 5th ave building top. He is captured by director Frederic Lilien. Tagged with the line  A hawk, A City, A Love Story, this  I expect to be a refreshing experience, a shift from the high-end  Hollywood movies.

Altogether The Legend of the Pale Male is probably the best way to end the month and get ready for Christmas. This is a real life stuff which shows real life, though little slow can be as breathtaking and beautiful. Watch this documentary guys, give reality a chance, and then move on to the wonderful month of December to frolic with Santa and another set of great movies…

Let me know if you find anything missing, or want anything added. Always online… :)
